Arsenal could sign Sami Khedira for a cut price with Real Madrid ramping up their efforts to sell the Germany international.
Khedira is a key transfer target for the Gunners this summer, and
reports last month suggested a £24million fee had been agreed, only for
the switch to stall over the player’s wage demands.
Everything has since gone quiet, but the Daily Star says Arsenal have now moved a step closer to landing the
27-year-old after Madrid made it clear he’s not wanted at the club.
The paper says Madrid have grown tired of Khedira dragging his feet
on his future, and with just 12 months left on his contract, they are
desperate to sell him now.
Madrid will apparently step up their efforts to force him out of the
club and could even reduce the asking price in a bid to move him on.
Chelsea have also been linked with Khedira but any deal with them
would depend on whether they can sell fringe midfielder John Obi Mikel.
